Aunt Annie's Crafts Web Books can be used on virtually any computer system with a Web browser.
Installation
Windows Installation (self-extracting installation file)
- After completing the download, double-click the .exe file now located on your hard drive. (Common problems)
- Follow the instructions in the installation dialog boxes to complete the setup.
- To open the Web Book:
- Double-click the Web Book icon in the Aunt Annie group.
- or -
- In Windows XP/Me/95/98, click the Start button and select the Web Book from the Aunt Annie program group.
- or -
- Use the Open File... option in the Web browser's File menu to open the project index file for the Web Book in \webbooks. (Demo: \webbooks\demindex.htm, Valentines: \webbooks\valindex.htm, Flowers: \webbooks\flrindex.htm, Spring: \webbooks\sprindex.htm)
Note: If you have a dial-up connection to the Internet, starting your Web browser may start your dialer or Winsock. To avoid connecting to the Internet, you can often just click the Cancel button on the dialer. If you have problems with this, check dialer and Web browser preferences or you may want to contact your Internet Service Provider or the manufacturer of your Internet software for assistance.
Common Windows installation problems:
- The downloaded file's name must end with .exe:
Sometimes during the download, the file extension of .exe is lost from the file's name. To correct this, simply rename the file and add the .exe, so Valentines To Make should be val11win.exe, Flowers and Medallions should be flr10win.exe, Spring Holiday Projects should be spr10win.exe, and the Demo Web Book should be dem10win.exe.
- The installation must be run from your system's hard disk:
The Web Book installation will not run correctly from the Windows Desktop or a diskette. If you donwloaded to either the Desktop or a diskette, copy the installation file to a folder on your hard disk. (When copying from the Desktop to a folder, be sure to hold the Shift key while you drag-and-drop.)
