Download and print the pattern of your choice to add leaves and/or butterflies to Paper Sunflowers. Print the patterns on white paper, and color the black and white patterns with markers, colored pencils or crayons.
Optionally, print the butterflies black-and-white pattern on a colored paper and add interesting markings to the wings with a black marker. Or print the colored butterflies pattern with polka dots on the reverse side--see how in the Tips section.
For leaf additions, cut out two or three leaves, large or small, for each flower, and crease lightly on the center line. Glue the leaves to the back of the sunflower so that the leaves peek out from behind the flower's petals.
Before cutting out the butterflies make them double-sided: cut out the rectangle around the butterfly of your choice, fold in half on the dashed line and glue. Cut out the butterfly, fold the wings up and glue to the sunflower.
These patterns for leaves and butterflies are from the Paper Sunflowers craft project. See this craft project for detailed instructions on how to make paper sunflowers.
Patterns are Adobe PDF files. The Adobe Reader is available for free.
All of Aunt Annie's project patterns are designed to be printed on standard letter-size paper (8.5"x11" or A4). When printing from Adobe Reader, you may need to select Auto-Rotate and Center or Choose paper source by PDF page size to ensure the best fit.
That's it! Where will you use
your sunflowers?
