Printable Rectangular Box Patterns

Print, fold, and decorate

Cut, fold, and glue to create rectangular boxes with lids. These printable gift boxes are easy to make in custom colors and designs.

All patterns print on Letter/A4 cardstock, while the largest box (5¾"x7¾"x1¼") has separate patterns for the bottom and lid. Use the boxes for jewelry, gourmet treats, stationery, gift cards, photos, and small handmade items.

Each pattern is a PDF file that prints on standard Letter/A4 paper.

Here's what you need:
  • Cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Ruler (for scoring)
  • Optional: Bone folder, double-sided tape, craft knife and cutting mat

Instructions

  1. Print the pattern onto white or colored cardstock.

    To transfer a pattern to cardboard or poster board, see the instructions in the Rectangular Box & Lid project.

  2. Cut out the box pattern on the solid black lines.

  3. Score all thin fold lines.

  4. Fold sides on the scored lines.

  5. Snip each corner on the dashed line to create glue tabs.

  6. Fold the cardstock into a box shape with the glue tabs on the inside. Glue the tabs to the sides of the box.
