Design your own race game from start to finish. Print a race game board (color or black-and-white), decorate it, label the spaces with actions like "Free Roll" and "Lose a Turn," create the rules, then gather dice and playing pieces to make it uniquely yours.

Each pattern is a PDF file that prints on standard Letter/A4 paper.
Choose a game board pattern and print it on white cardstock. Select one of the color patterns, or choose the black-and-white pattern to color as you like.

Design your game board. Decorate the spaces with drawings, stickers, colors, or themed artwork, then label special spaces with actions such as "Free Roll," "Lose a Turn," "Move Forward," or "Swap Places." Add as many special spaces as you like, then write the rules that explain how each one works.
Tip: Build your game around a favorite holiday, season, or hobby. Sticker sets make it easy to create themed race games for Halloween, Christmas, birthdays, sports, animals, or favorite characters.
Trim the game board to its finished shape. For a sturdier game board, glue it to poster board.
Tip: Add funny comments, challenges, or bonus instructions to the spaces to give your game more personality.
(Optional) Protect your finished game board by covering both sides with clear Contact Paper or another clear self-adhesive covering. Trim the covering, leaving a narrow border around the edges.
Tip: Complete your game by making a rules card. Give your game a name, write the objective, setup, rules, and winning conditions, then store the rules with the game board for future play.
Although the game board patterns are designed to print on a single sheet of Letter/A4 cardstock, you can easily enlarge them using the free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. The Poster printing option automatically divides the PDF into multiple pages that can be trimmed and assembled into a larger game board.
Note: If you open the PDF in your web browser, you may not see the Poster printing option. Download the PDF instead of printing it directly from your web browser. Then open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader before printing.
Open the Print Dialog. Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader and press Ctrl + P (Windows) or Cmd + P (Mac).
Select Poster. Under Page Sizing & Handling, choose Poster.
Adjust the Tile Scale.
Set the Overlap. Set Overlap to about 0.25 inch. This creates a small overlapping area that makes the pages easier to align and tape together.
Optional: Check Cut Marks and Labels to print trimming guides and page numbers that make assembly easier.
Print and Assemble. Print the pages, trim the margins where needed using the cut marks, then tape or glue the pages together to form your larger game board.
Tip: For a sturdier game board, glue the assembled pages to poster board before playing.
