Make Valentine's Day cards that feature silhouettes of hearts. Your card can feature a single large heart or two to four small hearts that fill the card front. The sample cards closely follow the instructions in the Leaf Silhouette Cards tutorial for making a sponged paper card.

Prep work: Cut the red paper or cardstock to size, 3¾″ by 5″. Print out the heart templates on cardstock or heavy paper. Select one of the larger templates and cut it out. The sample card uses the template second from the right.
To make the card: Follow the instructions in the Leaf Silhouette Cards tutorial, steps 3 thru 7. In Step 4, sponge the card front with the red paint you selected. Step 5, sponging the red paper, is optional. After Step 7, draw a rectangle with a black marker to form a border on the card.

To make the card: Follow the instructions in the Leaf Silhouette Cards tutorial, steps 3 thru 7. In Step 4, sponge the card front with the red paint you selected. Step 5, sponging the red and black paper, is optional. In Step 7, glue a red negative heart shape to the left side of the card and a black positive heart shape to the right side. After Step 7, draw a rectangle with a black marker to form a border on the card.
